After the turkey and the shopping, treat yourself to an intimate evening of fine American folk music with guitarist, singer-songwriter and storyteller Jack Williams at the Building Bridges Coffeehouse in downtown Bradenton.
Jack Williams’ music is rooted in his native South Carolina and is shaped by a 65-year career playing folk, rock, jazz, R&B, classical and popular music from the 1930s – 50s. According to his website, “Jack is considered an uncommonly unique guitarist, a writer of vivid songs with a strong sense of place, and a storyteller in the old Southern tradition as he further illustrates each tale with his guitar.”
As a hired-gun guitarist in the Deep South of the Civil Rights-Easy Rider 1960’s, Jack’s bands accompanied the likes of John Lee Hooker, Big Joe Turner, Jerry Butler, Hank Ballard, the Shirelles, and the Del-Vikings. Williams’ music, enriched from these varied influences, is a truly All-American Southern music. Learn more at www.JackWilliamsMusic.com.
